Introduction

I am Monte Hendricks. I have been building, repairing, and doing custom banjo work for over 44 years. My older brother Allen, when I was in high school, took me to visit two banjomakers in the Sacramento area. That hooked me. Here were guys who got to work on and build banjos for a living. In 1974 I went to work for C.C. Richelieu. He was just starting his business - Banjos by Richelieu. I was his first employee and became head craftsman during the time I was there. In January of 1977 I teamed up with my brother, Allen, and we started building our own Hendricks Banjos in Northern California.


I am still happy, after all these years, helping banjo players' dreams come true.
