Gibson TB-3 Mastertone with Hendricks Reproduction 5 string Neck

SOLD

This is a very clean 40 hole archtop two piece flange pre World War Two Gibson Mastertone. I built the reproduction neck for the owner around 30 years ago.

The original presto tailpiece is broken with the cover missing. It has been replaced with a reproduction Kershner style new tailpiece. All other metal parts are original to the banjo. The armrest has a minor dent to the top surface.

The neck rod is adjustable one way.  Adjustment is accessed at the heel of the neck. The truss rod cover in the peghead is decorative to match the original appearance. This is the rod we used in all our necks up to around 10 - 12 years ago. It works as it should. The neck relief is proper.

The finish and frets are in very good condition. This banjo looks almost the same as it did 30 years ago, although this was the banjo most played by the collector.

Here are three photos of the original neck included with the sale.

The banjo comes with a used hard shell case in good condition.
